If you’re anything like me, you find the movie theater experience a difficult environment to enjoy the latest blockbuster. Whether it’s the noisy chatting from movie goers, the overwhelming surround sound, or your seat position in the theater, it’s just not like being at home. It takes away from what should be a captivating experience. Thankfully, First Cinema has unveiled a revolutionary VR headset called Cinera. Designed to bring the immersive power of movie theater’s inside your living room, Cinera combines groundbreaking media content with the full immersion of VR technology.

Intelligent VR Design Features

So what differentiates Cinera from other VR headsets? First and foremost, the picture quality is second-to-none. Equipped with dual 2.5K resolution (2560 x 1440 x 2) screens, the image is 8x’s more superior than an iPhone 7+ and 3x’s more impressive than a movie theater screen. With already close to $235K raised on its Kickstarter campaign, First Cinema appears to have developed an in-home solution to the picture quality only seen in movie theaters.

The 3D Technology

The magic of Virtual Reality is simple: it allows you to be at the center of your film – delivering an immersive experience from the comforts of your couch. Cinera comes with a dual-screen architecture that according to the First Cinema “eliminates polarized filters in movie screens,” which is the reason behind losing 75% of the light in 3D images. First Cinema’s VR headset comes equipped with a stereoscopic display – giving each one of the user’s eyes its own display panel and light path. The end result: sharp images with movie quality brightness.

The Different Maker: Cinera’s Image Quality

With the best Hollywood movies touting an aspect ratio of 2.39, VR headset manufacturers split the screen in order to keep up with the “movie quality” ratio. This translates into not using over half of the display pixels. In other words, VR headsets are notorious for subpar image quality. Cinera, on the other hand, provides its own unique display panel for each eye – calling more than 95% of the pixels to shine. You add a super-wide peripheral Field-of-View (FoV) into the mix, you have yourself one of the most impressive VR headsets hitting the market this November (2017).

“Full immersion requires that visuals extend into the peripheral area. Cinera is the perfect combination of clear image and the feeling of 66-degree immersion.”

Compared to leading VR headset, Cinera is leaps and bounds ahead on the Pixels per Degree (PPD) front. Considered by many in the industry to be the true testament of image quality, PPD is the “number of pixels per degree in human vision.” The higher the number, the nicer the image quality. Cinera has a 39 PPD compared to HTC Vive (9.8) and Oculus (11.5).

Compatibility and Connectivity

First Cinema made sure its state-of-the-art VR headset is friendly with other devices. The compatible list includes smart phones, computers, PlayStation, Xbox, AppleTV, BluRay, and DVD. Armed with an HDMI connector port, Cinera works with gaming consoles, PC’s, streaming video devices, and Blu-Ray. Whether it’s streaming Netflix, Youtube, Hulu, HBO Go, or ESPN, you can instantly access your favorite media content just by wearing the Cinera headset.

Comfort

Each Cinera comes with a hands-free arm – removing the stresses of wearing a headset for hours. Whether you want to stand, sit, or lie down, the burden-free arm is ergonomically-sound – keeping you comfortable while you enjoy digital content.

Drone Navigation

Beyond enjoying the latest in 3D entertainment or streaming video content, Cinera is a First-Person View (FPV) head mount with a built-in high-quality wide-angle display. With close to four house of continuous battery life, you can take your Cinera on-the-go and experience 360-degree live streaming aerial shots from compatible drones.
