Engineered for the fitness enthusiast and equipped with the latest Android Wear 2.0 operating system, the all-new LG Watch Sport is the perfect mix of style and technology. From the 1.38″ full circle P-OLED display to its built-in activity tracker, LG’s smartwatch is an action-packed wearable with tons of versatility.
As an IP68-Certified watch, the LG Sport is protected against water immersion for 30 minutes at a depth of 1.5 meters. That means you can train for the swimming leg of your Triathlon in the ocean or in the lap pool without compromising the LG technology. Unfortunately, it does appear that your training sessions are limited to 30-minute intervals.
The real beauty of the watch is its modern display features. With the ability to choose from 11 preloaded active watch faces, you can instantly access your heart rate, navigation, weather, notifications, and fitness info with a simple glance down at your wristwatch. Armed with powerful NumberSync technology, users can make and receive calls and texts on your watch from your smartphone mobile number – even if leave your phone at home.
Whether it’s dialing numbers, accessing your contacts, voice recognition, voice dialing commands, call waiting, or caller ID, the LG Watch Sport is also an intuitive phone system powered by Google Assistant. Simply say, “Ok Google” or hold the rotating side button and you’re able to transform your LG watch into a portable digital assistant whether you’re running on your favorite cross country trail or cycling through a remote village in Italy.
Equipped with a full suite of environmental biosensors that are capable of detecting barometric pressure, tracking activity, and monitoring heart rate, wearers have access to a wealth of information while partaking in the outdoor recreation of choice. The built-in GPS technology gives real-time location information and turn-by-turn directions via Google Maps’ navigation.
Backed by a super-fast 1.1 GHz Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ Quad-Core MSM8909w processor and powered by 4G LTE wireless technology, the LG Sport seamlessly connects to your favorite apps. From AndroidPay to Google Play Music, simply say “Ok Google” and you have instant access to playlists, your Google Fit coach, and the ability to load credit card info directly onto the watch.
LG Watch Sport’s 430 mAh (embedded) battery gives users up to two hours of continuous talk time or close to a day-and-a-half of standby power. The Android Wear 2.0 operating system is the perfect interface for messaging with input methods that include handwriting, keyboard, smart reply, and 3rd party IME’s.
As for aesthetics, the LG Smart Watch Sport, in my opinion, is a more rugged looking wearable compared to the Apple’s high-tech Series 2 Watch. LG’s watch is made out of stainless steel 31-6L with a brushed metal finished. It looks like it could “take a licking and keep on ticking,” especially if you plan on making this your everyday fitness watch.
